One of the premier races for 3-year-olds in North America, the race often attracts winners and top finishers from the American Classic Races. The track is home to the Super Derby, a race run each September since 1980 at the classic distance of 1¼ miles (2,000 m). Harrah's Entertainment (now Caesars Entertainment Corp.) purchased the track in 2002.
